CHALLENGE

A 2,500 person global manufacturing organization had significant investments in their WAN and Internet services that were not being utilized due to the majority of office workers working remotely. With contracts in place for costly services that were not being leveraged, the organization also found itself needing to increase additional carrier related costs with servicing home users with internet access and mobile/cellular devices.

SOLUTION

As an agent working on behalf of the company with their contracted carriers, Aqueduct was able to identify a number of alternative plans that would allow data to be balanced across their internet, WAN, and mobile devices to allow for the shift of usage as the company moved from a primarily on to offsite workforce. In scenarios where we expected high usage for certain individuals, an unlimited plan was put in place to keep the pooled data plan from experiencing overages. For some home users, pass through employee discount programs were provided with major carriers for residential services.

Overall, the company saw a slight decrease in overall telecommunications spend, while mitigating risk of overages. Employees were able to get reduction of their personal expenses by leveraging corporate discount programs.
