Aqueduct President & CEO, Manak Ahluwalia is elected to Boston Symphony Orchestra’s Board of Advisors - Aqueduct Tech

Waltham, MA, April 15th, 2021 – Aqueduct Technologies, Inc., New England’s leading IT solutions provider, today announced that Manak Ahluwalia, President & CEO of Aqueduct was elected to the Board of Advisors with the Boston Symphony Orchestra. Through Manak’s expressed interest in the BSO and its many programs, he has a shared commitment to furthering the symphony’s mission.  Now, as a Board member, Manak will have the opportunity to help accomplish their institutional aspirations and participate directly in an enterprise that enriches the cultural life of communities well beyond our immediate borders.

The board of Advisors is a forward-thinking resource for the Boston Symphony Orchestra on issues of strategic importance and significance. Members advise Trustees and management on external trends and forces; advocate for the importance of music in the cultural life of our communities by creating platforms to position the BSO centrally in related civic discourse, and serve as ambassadors for the BSO’s mission- and philanthropic-related activities. The board members’ support and dedication will help the BSO sustain excellence and address challenges in the months and years ahead.

Aqueduct and BSO Partnership
In addition to Manak’s involvement on BSO’s Board of Advisors, Aqueduct is a long-standing partner in support of BSO and their initiatives. Aqueduct’s relationship with the BSO goes back many years and we have already pledged our partnership through the 2021-22 season, marking 5 consecutive years of corporate financial support.  Our support of the BSO reflects Aqueduct’s core values of “Learn. Teach. Care. Impact.” and the benefit of our corporate sponsorship of the Boston Symphony Orchestra (BSO) reaches beyond community involvement: it stimulates employee engagement as it demonstrates that we are enthusiastic about exposing employees to diverse cultural experiences. The arts, especially music, cultivate emotive experiences and the positive mental and physical health effects of listening to music have been studied and are credited with improving wellness, performance, and productivity; these are all outstanding qualities we want to inspire in our employee population.

With the support of Aqueduct Technologies and other Business Partners, the Boston Symphony Orchestra delivers music to more than 1.3 million people annually. Aqueduct’s sponsorship plays a critical role by providing them with funds that enable them to perform music at the highest level possible to the broadest audience. With ticket revenue covering only 50% of their costs, without the generous support, the BSO would not be able to carry out their education and community access programs, which serve more than 500,000 youth and their families each year. These programs instill curiosity and artistic expression, support cognitive development, and memory improvement, and language skills. Specifically, this year, in response to the isolative impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, the BSO was able to collaborate with other local arts organizations and continue to reach these communities through free, virtual performances made easily accessible online.
